SOUTH EAST ASIA TRADE
POLICY TRAINING NETWORK
First Announcement and
Invitation
June 2009
The South East Asia Trade Policy Training
Network (SEATRANET) and the Foreign Trade University of
Vietnam cordially invite you to attend the First SEATRANET
International Conference. The topic is “Trade in the ASEAN
Region under the Global Crisis”. The conference will be held
on December 7, 2009 at the Foreign Trade University in
Hanoi, Vietnam.
Who should attend:
Government policy makers, representatives
of trade oriented NGOs, bilateral and multilateral
organizations, researchers, academics and students! While
the focus is on the implications of the current global
economic challenges on the trade activities and policies of
ASEAN members, a broader international attendance is
expected, including both Europe and N. America. Register
early to receive a reduced registration rate! This will be a
valuable opportunity for both knowledge sharing and
networking with experts from a variety of backgrounds,
countries and perspectives. The registration free and
registration form can be found at www.seatranet.org
Contributed Papers:
A call for contributed papers has been
issued, with abstracts to be submitted by 15 August 2009.
Selected papers will be presented and discussed during
parallel sessions at the conference. It is expected that
those researchers whose papers are selected will receive
some subsidy toward their travel and participation. The
papers will be published in English and Vietnamese as part
of the Conference Proceedings. More information can be found
at www.seatranet.org
Sponsorship:
Interested organizations that share the goals
of SEATRANET are invited to become sponsors by contributing
to the costs of the conference. These important
contributions will enable a wider participation,
particularly for delegates from LDCs, and will be recognized
in various ways in the program and during the conference.
Sponsorship has already been approved by the Canadian
International Development Agency (through the APEC Economic
Integration Program) and by the European Commission (through
the MUTRAP II Project) but additional sponsors would further
strengthen the conference. The benefits and conditions can
be found at www.seatranet.org
Further Information, including registration
forms, details about contributing papers, and sponsorship
can be found on the conference web site
