INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE SEMINARS

 Titled "Understanding The Japanese Legal System And its role in Legal Assistance to Cambodia 


The Purpose of the Project:


          The purpose of the Project is to promote the International Students Exchange, in cooperation with Association of International Education, Japan (AIEJ). Nagoya University Graduate School of Law invites students and instructors from Faculty of Law and Economics, Royal University of Phnom Penh, to the International University Exchange Seminar help at Nagoya University Graduate Scholl of Law, based on the Academic Agreement between both universities.


Eligible students: Undergraduate students. It is preferred that students be skillful in the English language.


 Number of participants from your Faculty: Thirteen International students and two professors. Twenty to thirty Japanese students and professors are expected to participate in the seminar.


 Schedule: Sunday, 22nd July to Saturday, 5th August 2001 for 14 days:


          During this period, we will hold seminars with specific themes, for example, 'Studies of the current legal and political systems in Japan and legal assistance to Cambodia', instructed by professors from both universities and guest lecturers or experts in its field. Also, students from both universities will organize seminars themselves with an aim to deepening mutual understandings and friendships.


          In addition, study trips to the Nagoya High Court, Bar Association, and Toyota Automobile Company will be offered. Plus, we are planning to visit Kyoto city to explore Japanese history and culture.


 Residence:
          Students will stay at the Nagoya Youth Hostel for the first two days after which they will move to a Japanese host family's home. After 9 days staying in a Japanese home, they will move to the Nagoya Students Center.

          Instructors will stay at university hotels during the seminar.


Fees:
       
 Round-trip airfares and other expenses for international students and professors during their stay in Japan will be covered by AIEJ.
